John 3:19 NKJV
“And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
To me, this is one of the saddest statements Jesus said. To think, people throughout the world are condemning themselves to a fate they could easily get out of, the fate of Gods’ condemnation. How perplexing it is for us to run to darkness more than light. Oh, the ease in which both sexes fall into pornography, gossip, pride, self-justification, envy, jealousy, covetousness, etc. The Apostle Paul found himself in this great dilemma, of loving darkness more than light. He said in an autobiographic moment, Romans 7:19,
“For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.” NKJV
As you read these words, do you hear Jesus speaking in the background,
“Are you loving darkness more than light?”
The Lord is plainly speaking to us to check what the loves of our lives are, the loving of darkness or the loving of light. The test of discerning the difference is through the deeds we walk in. People in darkness can do-good deeds as people with the light can do bad deeds. Therefore, what is the deed, we as children in the light must walk to escape condemnation? The deed is falling in love with God through Jesus Christ our Savior. He is the light, loving the light with all our heart will expel loving darkness out of our heart. The love of God has no room for any deed done through the love of darkness; it only has a love to produce glory to God. Jesus makes this clear in Matthew 6:21,
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near
in the valley of decision.” Joel 3:14 NIV
AS the world panics over a virus, let this be a reminder, there is nothing but fear and panic in this world. The only hope is found in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Accept Him as your Savior today! Please, accept the reality of Easter!
“But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, ‘Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.’ For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” Romans 10:8-13 NKJV
